A collaborative project of leading scholars in the fields of sociology of religion, history, and practical theology, the strategies, resources and tools you will discover on this site have been designed specifically for religious leaders of all kinds, students, theological educators, and anyone else who wants to discover what is happening in religious gatherings today.

This resource was first developed by the Congregational Studies Team and is now hosted by the Center for Practical Theology at Boston University. Nancy Ammerman provides direction for the site, which has been generously funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc.

Dr. Nancy T. Ammerman is Project Director of StudyingCongregations.org and Professor of Sociology of Religion in the Department of Sociology and the School of Theology at Boston University. She is a past member of the Congregational Studies Team.
