Tune In: Church Rescue

A new National Geographic Channel TV show, Church Rescue, brings a Reality-TV lens to congregational consulting

The show is based in North Carolina, led by Kevin “Rev Kev” Annas, Anthony “Gladamere” Lockhart, and Jerry “Doc” Bentley. Their backgrounds involve expertise business, marketing, counseling, and theology.

The show, however, was canceled after six episodes. With the success of other faith-based reality TV shows why do you think this congregation-based reality TV show failed? Is it perhaps because congregational decline hit too close to home? Or perhaps that those who watch religiously-based reality TV don’t want to watch a show on religious decline? What are your thoughts?
